The odorous ant, or “stink ant”, has a stench that has been compared to rotten coconuts, blue cheese and turpentine. Stink ants feed on sugary foods and can be found in house plants and insulation. They can even live under your toilet seat!
One of the biggest challenges of exterminating stink ants, is that they have multiple nests around the home. They are also tolerant of extreme temperatures.
They are most likely to infest a home when their food is scarce in fall or washed away with the summer rain.
