Meet The Dampwood Termite

fatheadtermiteCTADid you know that some termites have pincers and will bite when threatened?

Dampwood termites are larger than their other termite counterparts. Swarmers can be as big as 1 inch.

Dampwood termites tend to feed on damp or dying wood, hence the name. Because of their specific diet, it is extremely important to treat any leaks in your home or plumbing problems.

Dampwood termites live in the wood they eat and do not tend to dwell in soil. This means that there are no mud tubes to tell you there is a termite problem.

The galleries they build tend to be smooth on the inside, not characteristic of many termite species. Even their fecal pellets are different and harder to spot than those of other termites.
